OUR MILESTONES IN 2022 W e C elebrated A nniversaries ! 30 Y EA R S 1 Y EA R 20 Y EA R S Longwood at Oakmont The community began as a vision for an exceptional LifePlan community in the northeastern suburbs of Pittsburgh. The board leadership at that time decided to acquire the former Valley Heights Golf Course along Route 909 in Plum Borough, which became the site of this beloved community. With each passing year, resident leaders have added their ideas, contributions and innovations. Examples of this partnership are evident in many ways as Longwood at Oakmont has grown and adapted during the past several years, including improvements to the meal plan structure, entrance fees, upgrades to apartments and the addition of technology. We also established a care management program to assist residents. More than 40 resident committees at Longwood demonstrate the level of passion, involvement and ownership residents have in this community. Shenango on the Green In November, Shenango on the Green celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Independent Living Apartments. Residents and the leadership team celebrated together with a special luncheon prepared by dining services. Residents shared favorite memories of life at Shenango that were compiled into a memory book that was given to each resident. Residents enjoyed viewing the original architectural plans that were displayed throughout the week. Residents who had once lived in an apartment and had moved to care communities also attended. Encore on the Lake Encore on the Lake celebrated its one-year anniversary in December as members and Encore team members reflected on the past year. The celebration included a party filled with food, fun, drinks and dancing, courtesy of Atria’s Catering and the Jack Slagel Trio. Members reflected on their move-in experience and the fun and friendship that has been formed over the past year. At the dedication for Encore on the Lake held in March, a poem was created and shared with the members titled “Friendship.” I am thankful for such a vibrant community of friends to do life with. I am blessed with the ones who have come alongside me to love, encourage, support and uplift me through all the twists and turns of life. I am so grateful that I do not have to go through life alone, I have felt love through my dear friends. The members and team members have transformed this new, four-story independent living membership community to a amazing place that all are proud to call home. Members have brought that poem to life and built wonderful, lasting friendships. 8
